Walkthrough of the DIGAREC In-Game Photo Gallery

Last modified date

This video shows a walkthrough of the DIGAREC In-Game Photo Gallery. The gallery showcases in-game photography works by students from the European Media Studies* program produced between 2016 and 2020. The gallery was created in the social VR tool Mozilla Hubs by the Mozilla Foundation. It opened in 2020 and was accessible from any browser. One could also use VR-goggles. With the help of an avatar visitors could navigate the gallery and experience the artworks. For the vernissage of the first version of the gallery in July 16, 2020, we welcomed guests from our home circles but also the UK and from Argentina. Up to 25 people could be in the same instance simultaneously and communicate with each other. This enabled me to offer numerous guided tours through the gallery with invited guests over the years. During the Covid pandemic and especially during lockdowns the gallery served as a meeting place for some of our students. Mozilla Hubs was discontinued in 2024, and so was the gallery.

This is to preserve the memory of this wonderful space in a special time.
